The Johanniter daycare center (Kita) “Wasserflöhe” is a new build on the Bundeswehr hospital campus in Berlin-Mitte and is the first Kita to be operated in house for the Johanniter. The 800 m² floor plan provides childcare for hospital employees, members of the armed forces and others.
The design by GKK & Partner focuses on the interconnectivity of the spaces, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior and creating sight lines between spaces within the Kita, helping the children to move freely during their day.
